Transportation

For intercity transport, I used louages, shared minivans of 7-8 passengers that leave when all the seats are filled. They were convenient, and I never had to wait more than 10 minutes for one to depart. Simply buy a ticket at one of the counters and then board the appropriate minivan.

To get around the cities, I used the ride share app InDrive. Taxis are actually cheaper, but I didn’t want to go through the hassle of negotiating. What’s nice about inDrive is that you set a rate, and drivers can choose whether or not to accept it. I took 11 inDrives for a total of $44.77, averaging $4.07 per ride.

Accommodations

Dar (Arabic for ‘house’) are traditional boutique guesthouses featuring a courtyard located in or near the medina. Both of these accommodations provided free breakfast. I paid $516.97 total.
